Easter is a few days away, if you like Deviled Eggs and want them to be beautiful this is for you. The first thing you need to make deviled eggs, is fresh hard boiled eggs!
When using fresh eggs the shell can stick. Why because they are fresh and there isn’t a lot of air in them like store bought eggs. There are other methods as we have previously posted, but when time is tight (it always is around our house) this method is faster.
Here it is: Add half a teaspoon of baking soda to the water when hard-boiling eggs to make the shells incredibly easy to peel off. That is it, one extra step to perfect peeling Hard boiled eggs!
Now that your eggs are perfect, here is a great Deviled Egg recipe.
Ingredients
- 6 eggs
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Paprika, for garnish
Deviled Eggs Directions
Using your beautiful fresh hard boiled eggs! Crack egg shells and carefully peel. If they are still hot/warm do this under cool running water. Gently dry with paper towels. Slice the eggs in half lengthwise, removing yolks to a medium bowl. Placing the whites on a serving platter. Mash the yolks into a fine crumble using a fork. Add mayonnaise, vinegar, mustard, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
Evenly disperse heaping teaspoons of the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Sprinkle the eggs with paprika for added flavor and garnish and serve!
If you want your Deviled eggs to have a little more stage presence, you can fill the eggs with a frosting squeezer to give the filling a custom texture. Have fun with the presentation and they will taste even better!!
